After extensive, time-consuming restructuring, incorporating some very modern
architectural solutions, it is at last time for the historic Osteria “All’Orologio” in
Brazzano to open its doors again. The new decor is impressive for both its
practical functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Set among long-established horse chestnut trees, the new restaurant’s
exterior is an attractive yellow with green shutters in the style of the Austro-Hungarian
Empire. The walls inside and out have been meticulously sanded to reveal the
original stone. The new name is “TERRA & VINI” (Land and Wines).
The strength of the Felluga estate derives from a united family: Livio’s
wife, Bruna, and their children Elda, Maurizio, Andrea and Filippo, who are
all active in the winery with different, complementary roles. Now LIVIO has
decided to complete the circle of production, which opens with more than
150 hectares of vineyards (at Rosazzo and in the Collio), continues in the
very modern cellar and now closes, opposite the cellar, with a new place
to drink well. TERRA & VINI will also offer the traditional recipes of
the Friulian kitchen presented by a well-known Manzano gastronomy professional,
LEDA DELLA ROVERE, a long-standing friend of the Felluga family.
The other evening, the entire Felluga family, with their current and former
collaborators, hosted distinguished local guests and friends for an informal
drink at a simple opening ceremony.
Words
of appreciation for the new initiative, which will fill a gastronomic gap
in the farming community of Brazzano, came from the mayor of Cormòns,
Claudio CUCUT and councillor Giuliana GIANELLO, as well as from the head
of the agrciultural inspectorate, Giovanni DEGHENARDT and the many growers
and professionals with whom the Fellugas have for many years maintained working
relationships and friendships.
