DESCRIPTION

Rosenplatz is made in a modern interpretation of the traditional tecniques used for Collio white wines.

Vinification: The Chardonnay grapes were carefully destemmed. Next, the fruit was soft crushed. The must obtained was then allowed to settle. The now-clarified must fermented at controlled temperatures in small casks of French oak. The Sauvignon grapes were carefully destemmed, then fermented and macerated on the skins at controlled temperatures in stainless steel containers.
Ageing: After alcoholic fermentation, the wines were blended and racked into French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation and cell lysis of fermentation yeasts took place. Bottling took place in May 2004. The bottled wine was aged in temperatured-controlled binning cellars for a minimum of five months.
Sensory characteristics:
Appearance: straw yellow with intense greenish highlights.

Nose: intense, broad and intriguing, with hints of tropical fruit, lychees, white grapefruit and tomato leaf, nuanced with asparagus, mint and fern sap.

Palate: full-bodied, soft and well-balanced, with a distinct, lingering return of the aromas on the back palate.

Serving suggestions: Excellent as an aperitif, Rosenplatz is also an outstanding partner for asparagus, vegetable soups, creamed pulses and marinated fish.
