THIRTY YEARS OF TERRE ALTE!
This week in New York City Livio Felluga celebrates the 30th vintage of its most prestigious wine.
1981 marked the debut vintage of Livio Felluga Terre Alte, an innovative blend of estate-grown Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon grapes from estate vineyards in Friuli’s Rosazzo zone. For Friuli, a region beholden to varietal wines at that time, it marked an intriguing approach. For Italy it had yet greater ramifications: the realisation of an Italian wine that indisputably qualified for a place among a rarified elite of world-class-quality whites. It was a seminal moment for Livio Felluga, for Friuli and for Italy.
Thirty years later this week’s series of vertical tastings celebrates "the wine that forever changed perceptions of Italian white wines, not just within Italy but throughout the world".
