Our beloved Tocai will be called Friulano. It has been confirmed that as of April 1, 2007* the name "Friulano" will be used on all the D.O.C. wines from Friuli Venezia Giulia that are made with Friuli's most beloved native grape. This historic event is due to the Hungarian claim to the name "Tokaji". We, as both wine producers and Friulans, consider this an excellent opportunity to increase the notoriety of this wonderful wine of ours.
In order to make this passage less traumatic, we have modified last year's label to adhear to current events. "Tocai" has been shaded over and "Friulano" is highlighted.

* Unless an unexpected last-minute decision by the European Court of Justice in Strasbourg allows the continued use of the name "Tocai Friulano".
